Getting started

The map won't centre on me, or I see a "no GPS" message

Tractor GPS needs location permission to guide you or record anything. Check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Tractor GPS and set it to While Using the App or Always.

After that, give it a minute or two for the first satellite fix, and check the phone's view of the sky — cab roofs and coated windscreens both attenuate the signal.

How do I set up a field?

Open the Fields tab and record a boundary by driving its perimeter, or draw it on the map. The app shows the enclosed area in acres or hectares as soon as the boundary closes. Section 5 of the user guide walks through it.

How do I start guidance?

Set up an implement profile first (Implements tab — width, working speed and offset), then go to Drive, drop your A point at one end of a pass and your B point at the other. The app draws parallel passes from that line and paints coverage as you drive.

Accuracy

How accurate is it?

The iPhone's built-in GNSS updates roughly once a second and is typically accurate to a few metres — fine for coverage mapping, spreading and general field work. For tighter passes, pair an external Bluetooth GNSS receiver (Settings → Hardware), which brings sub-metre and in some cases centimetre accuracy depending on the receiver.

My position jumps around

Mount the phone in a fixed position — holding it or moving it about degrades the fix. If the jumping continues, an external receiver is the fix; see section 10 of the user guide.

The guideline is off, or my passes don't line up

Almost always one of three things:

• the active implement's width is wrong;
• the offset is wrong for a tool that isn't centred behind the tractor;
• A and B were set on a stretch that wasn't actually straight — re-set them.

Subscription

How does the trial work?

Tractor GPS offers a 7-day free trial, then an annual subscription. You'll get a reminder before the trial ends, and you can cancel any time from iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

I subscribed but the app doesn't recognise it

Tap Restore Purchase on the paywall screen, signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If it still doesn't find it, email us and include the Apple ID email address you used.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they're cancelled in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tractor GPS → Cancel Subscription. We can't cancel it for you, but we're happy to help if it's not working.
